Hi I'm Biju John

I am also known as Biju Kottarakara, a passionate Journalist, dedicated social worker, and Organizer based in Long Island, New York. With extensive experience in leadership roles and a strong commitment to philanthropy, I strive to make a positive impact on local and international communities.

I currently serve as the Trustee board Secretary of the Federation of Kerala Associations in North America (FOKANA). Previously, I held the position of National Treasurer in the 2022-24 committee and Additional Associate Treasurer in the 2020-22 FOKANA committee. Also served as the chief editor of the 2022 convention souvenir. Additionally, I am the Chief Editor for an influential online news portal. I also actively contribute as the Joint Treasurer of the New York Chapter of the India Press Club of North America (IPCNA).

On a personal note, I pursued my education at NSS Polytechnic in Pandalam and began my career as a Sales Engineer in Dubai. In 2005, I immigrated to the United States and completed degrees in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA in Management and Leadership. For the past sixteen years, I have held a supervisory role at the New York City Transit Authority.

In addition to my current roles, I am the Newsletter and Publications Coordinator for the Kerala Engineering Graduate Association in North America (KEAN). In the past, I have held various positions, including Long Island Regional Vice President and Public Relations Coordinator. I take pride in my role as the New York Region Vice President of the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC) Chapter and as a committee member of the New York Malayalee Association (NYMA). I have also served as a past committee member and Golden Jubilee souvenir Chief Editor of Kerala Samajam of Greater New York and as the Public Relations Coordinator of the Indian American Malayalee Community of Yonkers.
Throughout my career, I have achieved significant milestones. With FOKANA, I have led charitable activities and contributed to community development in Kerala and USA. Additionally, I am dedicated to supporting politicians from Indian Society particularly from the Malayali community, in their journey into American politics. I actively participate in campaigns and spearhead fundraising efforts to assist their election funds.

My Family

I am grateful for my loving family, which includes my wife, Shiji John, who is actively engaged in the medical field, and our two wonderful children, Christina John and Joanna John.
